DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
To apply for a Temporary Residence Permit (TRP) in Latvia through real estate purchase, a set of documents is needed to be prepared.
Below you can find the requirements.
PROOF OF REAL ESTATE PURCHASE
- Documents proving the purchase of real estate, such as the purchase agreement.
- Land Register certificate confirming that you are the legal owner of the property.
- Proof of property value and payment of the full purchase price.
APPLICATION FORM
- A completed and signed TRP application form, which can be obtained from the Latvian Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs (OCMA) or their website.
PASSPORT
- A valid passport with copies of the relevant pages. The passport should be valid for at least three months beyond the intended stay.
PHOTOGRAPHS
- Passport-sized photos (typically two), meeting the Latvian visa photo requirements.
PAYMENT OF STATE FEES
- Proof of payment of the state fee (5% of the property value).
HEALTH INSURANCE
- Proof of health insurance valid in Latvia for the duration of the TRP. The insurance must cover emergency medical care.
PROOF OF FINANCIAL MEANS
- Documentation showing sufficient financial means to support yourself during your stay in Latvia. This can include bank statements, proof of income, or other financial documents.
CRIMINAL RECORD CERTIFICATE
- A police clearance certificate or criminal record from your home country or any country where you have resided for more than 12 months in the past 5 years. This document must be translated into Latvian and apostilled or legalized.
ACCOMODATION PROOF
- Proof of accommodation in Latvia, such as a rental agreement if you do not plan to live in the purchased property immediately.
PROOF OF TAX PAYMENTS
- Proof that you have paid all applicable property taxes.
FAMILY MEMBER DOCUMENTS
- If you are applying for TRP for your family members, you need additional documents:
- Marriage certificate (for spouse).
- Birth certificates (for children).
- These documents must be translated into Latvian and apostilled or legalized.
BIOMETRIC DATA
- Applicants must provide biometric data (fingerprints and a photo) when submitting their application.
ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS
- The OCMA may request additional documents depending on individual circumstances.
- Translation and Legalization: All documents not in Latvian must be translated by a certified translator. Documents issued abroad must be apostilled or legalized.
- Application Submission: You can submit your application at the OCMA in Latvia or at a Latvian embassy or consulate in your home country.
